MAY 2025 – NEW SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY
Harvard scientists used cutting-edge microscopic techniques to study 1,700 men and women – and found only one common factor among all overweight individuals: low levels of mitochondria.
They also discovered one thing in common among all people who were lean, toned, and had youthful, smooth skin: high levels of mitochondria.
That’s because, like tiny engines, mitochondria are small structures found inside every cell in our body that produce energy from the food we eat and from burning stored fat. This energy, known as ATP, is what our bodies need to do everything – from moving our muscles to keeping our hearts beating and even thinking.
In short, mitochondria burn fat and power every part of our body to keep it functioning properly. So, the more mitochondria you have, the more fat you burn!
